Privacy Policy
PortAura is local-first by design: every inspection runs on your Mac. This policy explains what information PortAura processes, how, and why it does not collect your data.
1. What we collect
Nothing. PortAura does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data:
- No analytics or telemetry
- No advertising or tracking SDKs
- No user accounts
- No crash report uploads
This matches the privacy manifest built into the Software (PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy): no tracking, no tracking domains, and no declared collected data types.
2. How the Software works
- Port and process inspection: the Software reads listening ports, process names, and PIDs on your machine using macOS system facilities. Results are displayed only on your screen.
- Local service health probes: when recognizing common local development services, the Software only sends probe requests to
127.0.0.1— your own computer. These requests never leave your device. - Preferences: appearance theme, port baselines, and other preferences are stored locally on your machine (app preference storage).
3. License and purchase information
- When you purchase PortAura Pro, you complete payment on Paddle's checkout page. Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited (Merchant of Record): the order, invoice, refund, and applicable taxes are handled by Paddle as required by law. Information you submit to Paddle (such as your email address and payment details) is governed by the Paddle Privacy Policy, not by the Developer.
- When PortAura Pro is activated, the Software communicates with the PortAura licensing service — and, where applicable, Paddle — solely to confirm your payment and validate your license. Only the minimum necessary data is exchanged for this purpose (such as your order/transaction reference and license status). Your port and process inspection data is never part of this communication.
- Your license is stored locally in your Mac's Keychain so PortAura can verify it on your machine.
4. This Website
This Website is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, embeds no analytics scripts, and records no personally identifiable information.
5. Children
The Software is not directed at children under 14 and collects no user information of any kind, so no children's data is processed.
6. Changes to this policy
If the Software changes in a way that requires updates to this policy, we will note the updated date on this page and describe the changes.
7. Contact
Developer: Yan Li (individual developer). If you have questions about this policy, reach out through the Website or the in-app contact options.
